Program Overview

The Clinical Intersection of Movement Neurology and Regional Pathology.

Leave traditional functional medicine protocols behind. FMMH bridges the gap between movement neuro-reprogramming and evidence-based clinical intervention, driving optimal, long-term patient outcomes. By mastering a focused elective pathway—Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, or Spine Health—you will transcend general practice to become a true regional expert. Secure the diagnostic precision and corrective command needed to master your most complex musculoskeletal cases.

Our Functional Medicine program differs from traditional FM programs that focus on lab data and addressing deficits with supplement and diet protocols.

Traditional Functional Medicine Approaches:

  • Analyze labs.
  • Address biochemistry.
  • Prescribe supplements.

We see things differently:

  • Over two-thirds of the brain's cerebral cortex (processing area) is dedicated to a single task: mapping and executing movement.
  • Up to 80% of all sensory signals entering the central nervous system are proprioceptive (how and where your body moves). Your brain is a movement computer.
  • When movement patterns are dysfunctional, the data stream turns toxic. Bad input forces the brain into a perpetual, resource-draining survival state.

FMMH Movement Dysfunction Approach:

  • Assess movement.
  • Correct dysfunctional movement patterns.
  • Reprogram the Nervous System.
  • Focus on the fundamental root causes.
  • Free vital resources your patients need to achieve and maintain optimal health.

Result: Systemic healing by fixing the brain's largest data highway.

FMMH Regional Specialization Approach:

  • Targeted elective pathways for Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, or the Spine.
  • An evidence-informed framework designed for immediate clinical application.
  • Rigorously researched, peer-reviewed content that rejects static learning.
  • Practical assessment and management protocols for daily patient care.
  • Functional outcomes built on bioindividuality and a biopsychosocial approach.

The CAHS Master’s in Functional Medicine and Musculoskeletal Health combines a continually updated, peer-reviewed, and rigorously researched evidence-based approach to the assessment, identification and treatment of dysfunctional movement patterns and MSK injuries / conditions.

This course utilizes core content from Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Professional Certification Programs and courses,  designed by Gray Cook and Dr. Lee Burton.

This course also utilizes content from ProHealth Systems (PHS) Professional Certification Programs, courses and online books,  designed by Dr. Nikita Vizniak.

Dr. Vizniak is a globally recognized author (over 30 textbooks), clinician, professor, and international speaker specializing in integrated, multidisciplinary physical medicine and patient-centered management.
