If the course that your question pertains to is a course provided by one of our external collaborators, you will have support-related information provided by their student support team.

The title you will be awarded upon completion of any one of our CAHS Master related programs is called a Master ‘propio’.
This is a ‘private’ Master award, developed and co-delivered by CAHS, which does not receive any form of government finance related support from within Spain.
This is an award that is equivalent to a Master in most countries and is made up of the Total Learning Hours (TLHs) that are the equivalent of 60 credits within the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
Note, one (1) ECTS is equal to 25 Total Learning Hours wherein TLHs are made up of contact hours, self-directed learning hours, and assessment-related hours.
As a result, our 60 ECTS Master programs are each made up of 60 x 25 hours = 1500 TLHs.
Yes, you may resubmit assessments if your result is unsatisfactory. Students are also allowed unlimited exam attempts to achieve the required 80% pass rate; however, a fee applies for each attempt beyond the third.

Título Propio Master’s programs are university-awarded postgraduate degrees designed for specialized professional education.
What is a Título Propio Master’s degree?
A Título Propio Master’s degree is a postgraduate degree issued directly by a university in Spain.
Universities create these Master’s programs to deliver specialized and professionally focused education, often in emerging or highly specialized fields.
They are widely used across Europe for:
- Executive education
- Advanced professional training

How is a Título Propio Master’s programs different from a government-regulated degree?
Spain has two types of university degrees:
Título Oficial - Government awarded Masters
- Government-regulated and part of Spain’s national higher education framework.
Título Propio - University awarded Masters
- Master’s programs designed and awarded directly by universities for specialized professional education.
Both are legitimate university programs, but they serve different purposes.
Título Propio Master’s programs are commonly used for advanced professional specialization.

- Building credibility in private practice
Recognition of international credentials varies by country and institution. Employers, universities, and regulatory bodies independently determine how qualifications are evaluated. These programs are designed for professional advancement and applied learning rather than pathways requiring nationally regulated degrees, such as PhD admission or certain government roles.
Can credential evaluation agencies assess a Título Propio Master’s?
Some credential evaluation agencies in Canada and the United States may not provide formal equivalency assessments for Título Propio Master’s, because they are not government-awarded degrees in Spain. (They are university awarded.)
However, many professionals still pursue these Master’s to gain:
- Advanced specialization
- International academic credentials
- Expanded professional expertise
Students who require credential evaluation should confirm requirements with the specific evaluation agency or institution they plan to use.
Can this Master’s be used for professional licensure?
Professional licensure requirements vary by profession and jurisdiction.
Students should confirm requirements with their professional licensing body or regulatory authority before enrolling if licensure is their primary goal.
