Program Overview

Master the science of movement to identify dysfunction, enhance performance, build resilience, and help clients achieve lasting improvements in health and physical potential.

Movement isn’t just physical—it’s neurological. Master the science of neuro-reprogramming with our Advanced Functional Movement & Human Performance (AFMHP) program. Gain the clinical and evidence-based skills to help your clients break free from survival-state physiology and achieve peak human performance and wellness.

AFMHP Movement Dysfunction Approach:

  • Assess movement.
  • Correct dysfunctional movement patterns.
  • Reprogram the Nervous System.
  • Focus on the fundamental root causes.
  • Free vital resources your patients need to achieve and maintain optimal health.

Result: True systemic healing by fixing the brain's largest data highway.

Stop treating the symptoms of dysfunction and start repairing the data highway that drives performance. The AFMHP Master’s program teaches you to assess, correct, and re-program the nervous system to restore optimal function. Whether you work in rehab, athletic performance, fitness, or wellness, you will learn to identify the 'toxic' movement patterns that sabotage results and replace them with the precision required for elite, sustainable human performance.

The CAHS Master’s in Advanced Functional Movement and Human Performance combines a continually updated evidence-based approach to the assessment, identification and treatment of dysfunctional movement patterns.

This course utilizes core content from Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Professional Certification Programs and courses,  designed by Gray Cook and Dr. Lee Burton.

Did you know that movement rules the brain?

Sensing your body and movement (aka proprioception) engages a huge neural network. The cerebellum alone holds up to 80% of the brain's total neurons just to manage these complex tasks.

While high-level conscious thinking uses relatively few processing resources, the real-time, unconscious computation required to track and move your body dictates a majority of the central nervous system's energy.

Why Movement Requires Massive Processing Power

Unlike computers, which can easily calculate math logic but struggle with physical balance, the human brain prioritizes spatial awareness.

  • 600+ muscles and 300+ joints send continuous data streams regarding tension, velocity, and angle.
  • High-speed bandwidth allows sensory feedback to exceed the standard limits of conscious human thought to keep you upright during a slip.
  • Predictive simulations run constantly in your brain, calculating where your hand will be a fraction of a second before it gets there to ensure smooth motion
